How to get to Seldovia

Seldovia is very accessible!
You can be there in as quick as one hour from Anchorage

From Anchorage

you have three choices, can take a scenic 4 hour drive to Homer or you can fly down to Homer or even direct to Seldovia.

While the car ride is great, we know most of you want to get to Seldovia as fast as you can in order to spend as much time as possible here.

If you Drive...

Head south on Highway 1 leaving Anchorage headed for Homer. Stay right at the Seward cuttoff and enjoy the trip.

If you Fly to Seldovia Direct...

Great Northern Airlines is currently the only way to fly direct unless you charter a flight.

If you Fly to Homer first...

ERA Aviation and Grant Aviation will give you a 30 to 60 minute flight over the Kenai Peninsula.

From Homer

Now the fun really begins. You can either fly from Homer or take a boat. Or do one each way.

If you Fly...

Homer Air and Smokeybay Air will get you there in under 10 minutes. But of course you might want to add a flightsee for a couple of extra bucks. On a calm day it is definately a treat.

If you take a Boat...

The Alaska Marine Highway Ferry will get your vehicle over. The ferry operate a few times per week. You can also take a water taxi, either the Rainbow Connection or the Discovery will get you all the way in to Seldovia and give you a very scenic tour on the way over.
